Ferrari is one of the world’s most popular exotic car makers.  Their cars are known for horsepower, top speed and the very expensive price tag.  If you are lucky enough to own one of these high-end sports cars, then you know the craftsmanship and heritage in a Ferrari.  So what if you are not so lucky as to own one of these exotics?  What’s the next best thing?  Could it be a kit car transplanted over the shell of a third generation Camaro?

Well that’s exactly what we found over on Autoholics.com

“Kit cars” have always been on the lunatic fringe of car customization.  It seems like having one make you look sort of like you have the real deal, but falls way short with only a few that look close to the real thing.  These kit cars are fairly time consuming to build, and also require a lot of money for them to look half way decent.  Because of the ‘modular’ body panel design, the Pontiac Fiero was a popular donor chassis for many kit car conversions, but for the more ambitious, late model F-body cars make a tempting target because of their availability, cheapness, and large aftermarket for speed parts.

This Ferrari kit car looks to be a Testarossa integrated with a third generation Camaro.  From the front of the car, the Chevy heritage is clear.  When we get a side shot it looks a little more like a Ferrari, with its large louvers coming out of the rear quarter panel.   The one thing this car has going for it is the exhaust note, which is hard to screw up even with the stock V8 under the hood.  Another thing that would come in handy running from the cops is the rotating rear license plate, though we’re not too sure how anonymous you could hope to be while driving this car…

All in all this car might have looked better if it was left alone as an American classic.  We will let you decide. The real question, though, is whether we should fear for the future of the Bondo’ed SN-95 Mustang convertible in the background of the video, too.
