Via Fullboost‘s YouTube Channel, we bring you this twin-turbo LS-powered Holden Ute that just can’t seem to maintain any traction.
First of all, this Ute is beautiful – the exterior is pristine and the engine bay is clean enough to eat out of. Without seeing the intercooler in the front lower grille, we would think that this is just another clean Holden.
That’s not the case here, as this Ute is powered by a twin-turbo LS 403 ci engine (we’re guessing it’s a bored LS3) mated to a strong Tremec Magnum 6-speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, this Ute doesn’t have the tires to match all the power it’s putting out, but it’s owner, who goes by “Tacka,” stated in a YouTube comment that he’s ran slicks before with this setup and that it’s worse than running with the street tires in the video. Tacka also stated that he would have to tub the bed to fit a larger tire.
Being a daily driver, there’s no rush for this Ute to be tubbed for more traction – Tacka just likes to have fun in it, and he didn’t build it for competition whatsoever, just for fun. What a little sleeper, though! We’d love to see more of this Ute in action, maybe even a little drifting if the owner is up for it.
Last, but not least; The quarter-mile times. Tacka’s Ute ran a 13.7 quarter at 128.5 MPH the first run and a 13.0 at 128.7 MPH on the third run – the times and MPH are consistent; he just needs a better launch! We’ll just have to wait for more videos of this beast to see if the times have improved, but keep in mind that this is a fun car and not a competitive build.
