If there’s nothing we love more, it’s a built Chevy truck. Whether it’s new or old, big or small, 2WD or 4WD, we love us a quick pick-em-up! The one you’re looking at on this page is one of those trucks that gets us wishing we would’ve picked up a Silverado SS back when they were new.

Under that engine cover, is a blown 403 LQ9 stroker topped with a P1-SC1 ProCharger.

It’s a 2003 AWD example (nicknamed Bloo) that looks relatively stock on the outside, but packs quite a punch under the hood. It belongs to Michael Ross, and underneath that  fiberglass Goodmark hood is not just an LQ9, but a bored-out 2005-spec version with a 4-inch stroke that brings the total cubic inches to 403.

Inside the iron LS-based mill is a 227/235 .612/.620 113 LSA COMP Cams camshaft that works in perfect harmony with the P1-SC1 ProCharger which forces 8 PSI of boost into the truck’s Trick Flow ported and polished heads. Rounding out the engine mods is a set of Dynatech header and cats, a Meziere electric water pump, PRW rockers, Wiseco pistons, a Powermaster alternator, and Taylor wires.

Backing the boosted mill is a Level 5 gearbox from FLT utilizing a 3100 RPM stall converter. The mechanicals and temperament of the powertrain are kept in check thanks to a tune from Nelson Performance. 

Rounding out the chassis and suspension mods are a set of Bilstein shocks, with GM Accessory GK-948 wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber. By now you’re probably wondering what kind of power this hauler is putting to the pavement, but sadly, Ross hasn’t been able to find an AWD dyno in his area that can handle the size of his truck.
