I’m gonna be totally honest here and admit that I have a soft spot for pony cars with trailer hitches. While some say it’s heresy to pull anything with a performance car, I would argue that a little tag-along filled with tires, tools, and race gas is the ultimate speed part. There’s nothing like being able to say, “Not only is my car not a trailer queen – it PULLS one!”
According to his CarDomain ride page, Randy has owned this classic 1967 Camaro since his 14th birthday, 24 years ago. Over that time, it’s been through a lot of changes, including a 470CI big block under the hood that propelled it to a best of 11.40 in the quarter mile. In the fall of 2004, he decided to turn it into a pro touring ride, and built it out with a full race chassis, 1999 Camaro dash and electrical system, and the LS1 out of an ’04 GTO.
Randy’s hoping for an invitation to the GRM Ultimate Track Car Challenge, but this Camaro is much, much more than a track car – He plans to drive the 14 hour stretch between his Connecticut home and VIR if he gets the nod. We hope his hard work gets recognized, and that he kicks some ass with his rain-or-shine daily driver – after all, that trailer will give him plenty of room to take home a big trophy!
