This week has not been good for Hollywood A-listers and their Chevys. First, we found out rap artist Wiz Khalifa was involved in a wreck which destroyed the front end of his ‘69 Chevelle SS convertible. Now we’ve found out from TMZ.com that the late Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was also recently in an accident involving a Chevy- her boyfriend Nick Gordon’s fifth-gen Camaro to be exact. Maybe this means celebs need to stay away from the Chevy brand for awhile, or maybe they just need to pay better attention when driving.
The accident involving Gordon and Brown happened Sunday night in Georgia where the couple has been staying since Houston’s death. Gordon was driving his 2012 Camaro with 19-year-old Brown in the passenger seat in Alpharette, GA when the two were involved in the one-car accident. TMZ sources state that the couple was arguing at the time of the crash and no one was hurt. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for the car.
The Camaro looks to be in pretty bad shape after the accident, with the front bumper ripped off, airbags deployed, front passenger side tire missing and the rim contorted in a non-circular fashion. But somehow the couple got the car home in its current state because police didn’t find it until they responded to a noise complaint at the couple’s apartment and saw the car parked outside with the four-way flashers on. Needless to say, the accident is under investigation.
Its cool that celebs want to roll in Chevys, but we enthusiasts just ask that if you’re going to own one, please pay attention when driving. We don’t need any more of our favorite brand ending up in scrap yards because of distracted drivers that can’t keep their cars in control.
