Our friends at Whiteside Customs [2] in McKinney, Texas recently tipped us off to a new line of custom 5th Gen Camaros that their shop will be turning out in the near future. Already known for their “Project Syn R G [3]” 500 horsepower V6 5th Gen Camaro, Whiteside is now looking to expand with their line of Signature Series Camaros [4], that will be based around adding visual impact, high performance suspension upgrades, and a little bit of performance to go with it.
The car you see here is Whiteside’s Stage 1 prototype, which is offered as a basic upgrade package for street cars with bushings, coil overs, and sway bars. Stage 2 cars will be for more aggressive street applications, while stage 3 will be aimed at 5th Gen enthusiasts who want to regularly hit the autocross or road course in their new Camaro.
[5]The parts included in each of the three packages are a Roto-Fab cold air intake, BR Series coilovers from BC Racing, upgraded swaybars from Whiteline. The Whiteside Signature Series Camaros will all be rolling on Forgeline Wheels [6] wrapped in sticky Michillen Pilot Super Sport tires, that are bolted over a set of massive Brembo 6-piston calipers.
Simple but effective chances to the exterior, mixed with an aggressive stance from the coilovers give the Signature Series Camaros plenty of street presence, while on the interior is stitched up in plush Katzkin Leather [7] with sueded accents to offer a better driver experience. Mike White, the CEO of Whiteside Customs tells us, “My outlook is simple: sweat the small stuff. It’s the details that set apart the good cars from the best.” The Whiteside Customs Signature Series Camaros [4] will be available for sale through Huffines Chevrolet in Plano, Texas.
