Whiteside Customs’ Camaro Preps for SEMA

[1]You know, it is less than a month before the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association show in Las Vegas throws open its doors. And so far, we haven’t seen or heard of too many wild, outlandish Camaros making the trip. Could it be that the excitement generated when these muscle cars first hit the streets is finally fading?

Nah. If anything, the aftermarket is just getting warmed up. Whiteside Customs [2] has just released a press release to Camaro5 [3] with this picture detailing their plans for a 500 horsepower V6 Camaro to make its debut at SEMA next month. Yup, you read that right; a 500 horsepower, V6 Camaro.

What’s not to love about that? Sure, you could argue that it would be easier and more cost effective to make a 500 horsepower V8 Camaro. But where’s the fun in that? Details are few, though the plan is for a twin turbo kit from RX Performance to boost the Camaro’s V6, in hopes of taking down the mighty “Godzilla” aka the Nissan GT-R.

Whiteside Customs plans on giving the Camaro a full suspension and technology upgrade as well. After all, they are going after one of the world’s foremost supercars with a V6 Camaro. But it sounds as though they’ve got an idea what they’re doing, and we’ll be sure to stop by their booth and check out this mean, green, V6 machine come SEMA.
