What could be better then a nine second C6 you might ask… a black nine second ZR1 with an exhaust note that could make even the most die-hard hybrid fans think twice about their most recent purchase.  This thing just sounds flat out pissed!

As you can see, thanks to High Tech Corvette, the video kicks off with a well executed burnout before a fire jacketed passenger exits the vehicle. Even when rolling forward to stage, the ZR1 still has tire-smoke rolling out from under the body panels, creating a pretty cool effect.

The Corvette leaves the line with a solid launch, and makes its way through the gears. Although if you listen carefully, it sounds as though he bounces off the rev limiter while shifting into fourth gear, just before the end.

The ZR1 crossed the stripe in 9.93 seconds at 143.69 mph… clearly nothing to shake a stick at considering this looks and sounds like a car that, with a simple wheel swap, one could still take the Mrs. to dinner on Sunday night and drive to work Monday morning.

The Corvette may not be the best drag race platform on the road, and we are okay with that. They are however, good for drag racing, road racing, touring, and several other uses that Corvette users have found. That is what we love about Corvettes, they can fill several shoes well and do so in style and more recently, luxury!
