Video: The LS7-Powered Spada Codatronca Monza

With the outrageous power produced by the latest LS engines, many custom auto manufacturers are using the GM engine as the power source for their newest offerings. Autoblog reported to the release of the Spada Codatronca Monza. Spada released the Codatronca first, but the initial offering was not enough to suit the demands of Aznom, the car’s design house; this quest for a more outrageous machine lead to the creation of the 710-horspower Codatronca Monza. Speculators are betting that the twin supercharged 7.0 liter V8 is roughly based on the LS7 found in the Z06 Corvettes. Spada’s Codatronca Monza is a lightweight high-horsepower roadster that is capable of producing a 0 to 62 MPH sprint of three seconds flat.

Tipping the scales at a minimal 2,600 pounds, the Codatronca Monza has a reported top speed of 208 MPH. A sparse interior features Sabelt seats, a data acquisition system and a F1-style steering wheel. Spada added a set of OZ Ultraleggera wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero Corsa rubber, a fully adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes and the same ABS system required in the FIA GT3 series. Keeping true to the weight saving components and design, the Codatronca Monza features an aluminum tubular chassis coated in carbon fiber for added strength, while the body is constructed from composite materials. The current Codatronca Monza was built for Aznom as a display model, but Spada plans to offer a street driven model based on the existing car.
