The good folks at Hammink Performance, in Balkburg, in the Netherlands, recently posted this video on YouTube of what they claim to be the very first Hennessey Performance HPE650 Camaro to land on Europe’s shores. The HPE650 starts at around $60,000 here in the states, so you can probably let your imagination run wild with how much it must have cost to get this one to The Netherlands.
But, you do get quite a bit for your money. Like all HPE650 Camaros, this cherry red example comes from Hennessey equipped with the loved, respected, and feared TVS 2300 Supercharger bolted to a set of ported heads. A set of HPE stainless steel long-tubes, full exhaust, a cam upgrade, and all the supporting modifications are added to maximize every bit of power the TVS supercharger has to offer, and with the all that extra motivation, the HPE650 belts out an impressive 655 BHP at 6,300 RPM.
Rather than just stand around and look at the Camaro, the guys at Hammink did exactly what we would do: they went out and took it for a few blasts down a country back road to see exactly what she’s made of. And the HPE650 doesn’t disappoint. It’s clear from both the performance and nasty exhaust note that this isn’t your average 5th Gen Camaro. The HPE650 just flat-out gets it down those flat and narrow roads.
As we were watching this video, we decided that it’s probably a pretty good thing Hennessey also upgraded the Camaro with 8-Piston Brembo brakes –just in case one of those cows decided to step out on the road during their unsanctioned acceleration tests.
