In the world of racing, there is an ever increasing drive to make cars more powerful and ultimately get to the end of the track faster. Pair that drive with the knowledge of companies like Pfadt Race Engineering and East Coast Supercharging, and you’re bound to have one nasty ride like the Camaro we found featured on YouTube. You’ve got to watch the video, but we’ll preface it with this – that 650 horsepower GT500 everyone’s talking about doesn’t have anything on this fifth-gen beast.
The 2011 Camaro in the video has plenty of performance modifications. Equipped with East Coast Supercharging’s Base Novi 1500 Supercharger Kit, Big Blower Cam Package, Alky Control Centri-Kit and TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, the Camaro also sports American Racing Long Tube Headers with high-flow catalytic converters and a Drone-Free Street Axle Back System, custom aluminum driveshaft from the Driveshaft Shop (DSS), and a DSS 9-inch IRS Conversion Kit. Keeping all that power of the Camaro on the ground is a full Pfadt Race Engineering suspension system with street coilovers, drag springs, a rear drag bar, rear suspension bushings, rear trailing arms and rear toe rods. Surprisingly, the car maintains its stock bottom end despite all of its modifications.
All of the Camaro’s modifications look impressive on paper, but it’s seeing the car run at the drag strip that puts it all into perspective. With a nice burnout and a clean launch at the lights, the Pfadt-equipped Camaro makes it to the end of the track in just 9.87 seconds with a trap speed of 136.9 MPH.
With a single-digit timeslip in the books, now all that’s left is to work a little bit on that reaction time and start taking down a few Mustangs. Check out the video and turn up those speakers to experience just how bad this fifth-gen Camaro really is.
