The C7 Stingray is simply an amazing platform. For those lucky enough to own one or have spent some time behind the wheel, they already know that the handling characteristics are like no other Corvette in history, and we mean that positively in every sense. That being said, we found a popular Japanese hot-shoe who takes a C6 for a very fast session to discuss its handling characteristics compared to some other sports cars from around the world.
For those pressed for time, the C6 portion picks up at the six-minute mark and concludes at about 9:33. The comparison is not exactly of like-kind vehicles considering displacement, size, and weight; but they are all technically lumped into the sports car category. Whether or not you agree with the diagnosis, we found the 1-10 scale used to explain the predictability of handling to be rather effective, and we hope you do as well.
Considering the driver’s opinion of the C6 is summed up by such remarks as, “Are you sure there is any joy in driving this car, it is like a sponge, and it is like Japanese country music,” it is safe to say that he is not a fan overall. He seems to appreciate the power and straight-line ability of the car, but doesn’t deem it a great vehicle for flicking amongst tight winding roads.
One thing I’m sure we can all agree on is, that we would certainly like to see a followup video with the Stingray or even the new Z06. We’d have to imagine he will be singing a different tune!
