When plain old white tire smoke just isn't enough...

With all the crazy burnout videos filling up the internet it seems to be getting harder for drivers to find a way to set their tire melting exhibitions apart from all the rest. Now thanks to Kumho Tires, Hoons throughout the world have a colorful way to express themselves through the majesty of tire smoke.

We recently came across this video on YouTube from The Smooth Truckfest, in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, Canada of a 5th Gen Camaro SS producing voluminous clouds of red and blue tire smoke, apparently during a burnout competition. The driver lays down this pretty impressive smoke show on what we believe are the Kuhmo ECSTA SPT KU31 drift tires. With red smoke coming from the driver’s side, and blue from the passenger, the clouds mix together around the car to create one giant purple haze around the SS, and the crowd seems to be eating it up.

Kumho’s site says of the KU31, “Select sizes [are] available in red, yellow and blue smoke for ‘drifting’ fans. The colored smoke will last throughout the tire’s full tread life.” As cool as colored tire smoke might be, these tires are just plain stupid-expensive. The price tag for just one tire can come in as high as $475. Just think about it; that is nearly $1,000 worth of tires creating those “Puff the Magic Dragon” style clouds of tire smoke. We cant help but wonder just how many smoke shows like this a grand can buy you.
