Stumbling across YouTube clips of muscle cars doing smoky burnouts is a fairly common occurrence these days, but when the vehicle in question is a 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass that’s powered by a blown 6.6-liter LS2 V8 supplied by Lingenfelter which sends the brutality to all four corners, it’s worthy of a little extra attention.

That LS motor is supplemented by a D1SC Procharger running at 15 lbs of boost and shifting duties are handled by a 4L70-E transmission from NTM. Meanwhile, 3.73 gears and the front and back are connected to a hand-built AWD system with Moser Engineering axles. What’s it add up to? A hell of a lot of tire smoke if you chain the back of the car to a garage, as it turns out.

When it’s not decimating tires and driveways, the Cutlass is capable of quarter mile times of 10.70 @ 130 mph on its Nexen N3000 street tires, a feat made even more impressive considering that the car weights nearly 3900 pounds with a driver. That AWD conversion not only helps at the dragstrip, it also makes this beast usable during the winter months in its hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska, – something RWD muscle cars with this much chutzpah typically aren’t up for.
