We’re not quite sure why we like fast station wagons, but the fact of the matter is, we do. Something about the practical versatility and sleep status of wagons really draws us to them, and there is no wagon we’d rather have than the Cadillac CTS Wagon. Of course, GM also designed to make a “V” version of the wagon, dropping the proven power of the supercharged LSA V8 engine under the hood of this family hauler.

Ever wonder how much power this puppy puts down at the wheels? Well worry not, as Hennessey Performance has taken their automatic-equipped CTS-V Wagon to the dyno for some baseline numbers, and this war wagon does not disappoint.

Why just baseline numbers? Well Hennessey is very well known for its efforts of making fast cars even faster, but to accurately know exactly how much horsepower you’ve gained from modifications, you’ve got to know how much you’re making. In stock form, the Cadillac CTS-V wagon delivers 556 horsepower and 551 ft-lbs of torque at the flywheel. Good numbers, but how much of that power makes it to the street?

A lot, as it turns out. Hennessey’s dyno numbers on the CTS-V Wagon were 479 horsepower and 462 ft-lbs of torque. Figuring in a 15% drivetrain loss, that’s right about where the numbers should be. Of course we’re sure this isn’t the last we’ve seen of this particular CTS-V wagon. Hennessey has a lot of tricks up their sleeves, including their V800” package that adds twin turbochargers, among other upgrades, to the already-stout LSA engine and pushes power well over 800 ponies. What exactly is in store for this wagon, we don’t know, but we sure can’t wait to find out!
