Just when you thought Hennessey Performance had modified every GM performance car on the market, the company has turned around and wowed us again. But this time, the HPE upgrade isn’t to a Camaro or Corvette… it’s to a 2014 GMC 6.2L Sierra pickup truck. Check it out on the dyno in the video above.
Now the stock baseline for the new 6.2L Sierra is about 360hp and 400 lb-ft of torque; not bad for a lumber hauler. But with Hennessey Performance’s expertise and new HPE650 Supercharger upgrade for the Sierra in the mix, this truck is capable of producing an amazing 545hp and 540 lb-ft of torque. If you’re doing the math, that’s about a 50-percent improvement in horsepower and around a 33-percent improvement in torque.
As you probably know, Hennessey Performance is the name behind one of the fastest and most powerful production cars in the world, with the Hennessey Venom GT capable of hitting 278mph with a horsepower rating of 1244bhp at 6,000 RPM backed by 1155 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 RPM. That’s 665bhp and 658 lb-ft of torque at the crank.
This performance ideal has certainly carried over into the other products Hennessey offers, including the HPE650 Supercharger System for the new GMC Sierra. Hennessey also offers performance upgrades for the Chevy Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe, as well as the GMC Yukon.
If Chevy isn’t your truck brand of choice, Hennessey also offers performance upgrades with a variety of horsepower and torque improvements for other makes and models, including the Cadillac Escalade, Ford F-150 Raptor SVT, Toyota Tundra, Jeep Wrangler, and the Toyota Land Cruiser, to name a few.
With so much power under your foot, how much fun would a truck or SUV be with nearly 200hp more than stock? All we can say is sign us up!
