You have got to admit it; even after the worst economic breakdown this country has seen in decades, Detroit has been pumping out some of the baddest cars ever to roll off of an American assembly line, despite their own recent financial woes.
To add further irony to what the tree-huggers would already consider a tragic comedy, General Motors has been injecting a healthy dose of oomph into vehicles you would least expect it in, including the Cadillac CTS models. Designating their high end, high performance cars the “V-Series” line up that began with the CTS-V back in 2004, the CTS in itself has morphed from a singular body style, sedan-only model, into a three-body model with the recent addition of a coupe and a wagon.
Cadillac, wanting to take on all comers from Germany such as the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-Benz E63, also wanted to take on the wagon versions of those same models. Enter the CTS-V wagon.
Hennessey Perfomance, largely known for tinkering with Dodge Vipers back in the ‘90s, has turned their attention to everything from trucks, to even the R35 Nissan GT-R of all things. But recently, we’ve come across a clip of them hazing the tires at the drag strip on their own test mule, the Hennessey “V650” -as they call it. The video is pretty self-explanatory, and while it doesn’t even show it making a pass down the track, it’s still pretty sweet watching a 650+hp Cadillac wagon rip up a brand new set of hides. Besides, we’ve already seen it smoke a Porsche 911 Turbo and a Nissan GT-R. Enjoy.
