Doubling Up With Aeromotive’s Dual Phantom Fuel Pumps

dp02We’re seeing bigger horsepower numbers from vehicles of all types these days: from street cars and trucks to all forms of racing, and the need for power is running through the veins of every gearhead out there.

With that need for more power comes the need to deliver fuel to the engine consistently and reliably, and Aeromotive, Inc. has been providing fuel delivery solutions through three generations of enthusiasts who take their own product to the track with proven results.

When Aeromotive introduced the Stealth Phantom fuel system, it put the reliability of their fuel pumps inside virtually any fuel tank to provide cooler, quieter fuel pump operation. It also meant that the need for a custom fuel tank or a sump system wasn’t necessary.

This made it a great choice for numerous applications, and gave musclecar enthusiasts who converted to fuel injection a way to control fuel slosh and fuel delivery in a factory fuel tank designed for vehicles with a carburetor.

dp03The Phantom Stealth system allowed the installation of the pump in the tank with Aeromotive’s unique foam and bladder, keeping fuel surrounding the pump at all times and controlling fuel slosh. This means reliable fuel delivery no matter how hard the car is driven, whether it’s launching from the tree or hitting the turns – the Phantom Stealth system provides fuel when it is needed most.

As horsepower increases in street and race vehicles, the need for delivering the fuel for these applications has increased as well. Aeromotive has stepped up their game with the new Dual Phantom fuel pump system. This unique application takes up no more space than the original Phantom system, but provides two fuel pumps for varying applications without the need for modifying the fuel tank any further.

In many race cars and trucks, there are times when a single pump is sufficient for fuel delivery: this can be when staging, returning to the pits, or during cool down laps at the track when the revs are low and fuel demand is minimal. But when the race is on and the pedal is to the metal, more fuel is needed to keep up with the demands, and a second Stealth fuel pump can provide the additional fuel flow to support engines with up to 2,000 hp.

Both Stealth 340 pumps in the Dual Phantom system have their own separate electrical bulkheads, and separate fuel outlet ports. A single fuel return port puts returned fuel back to the center of the Phantom fuel system where the pumps reside, keeping fuel available for either pump. The pumps can be run simultaneously or separately, depending on the fuel needs of the vehicle by either dual stage switching or manual switching.

For extreme racing conditions when a redundant or back-up pump is needed, the Dual Phantom is the perfect solution. The separate electrical bulkheads allow the second pump to be switched on when needed, and the increased capacity of the foam and bladder system keeps more fuel around the pumps without taking up any more space.

The two Stealth 340 pumps each deliver fuel at up to 340 lph and can be used in carbureted or EFI applications. The turbine pumps increase durability and can also be used in pulse modulated applications. At 40 psi, the Stealth pumps deliver up to 30-percent more fuel than factory fuel pumps while remaining OE quiet.

Like the single Phantom system, the Dual Phantom will fit tanks with depths of six to 11-inches in depth, whether the tank is plastic, steel, or aluminum. The unique foam seal allows the fuel pump hanger to be mounted on corrugated or smooth tanks. The system can be mounted in a factory fuel tank or a fuel cell, without the need for building a custom tank or welding a separate sump tank to your stock fuel tank.

The Dual Phantom works for forced induction or naturally aspirated applications, and the -6 ORB fuel ports can be stepped up to -8 with adapters readily available from Aeromotive.
