“Racin’ is racing’,” they say. It doesn’t matter what you’re driving, how pretty it looks, or what its got under the hood, just as long as it wins. Well, that’s all fine and good, but we will admit when a nearly 5,000 lbs. SUV blows your doors straight off, it’s a little embarrassing.
We’re not exactly sure about the whos, like who built or owns this SS Trailblazer, but we do know the whats, like what’s under the big hood and what kind of time slips this monster is capable of; namely a twin-turbo LSX plant capable of nearly 2,500 horsepower! All of that power launches this TBSS way up on its back wheels and down the Crandall Raceway (near Dallas, TX) in short order. How quick? Try 9.03 at 151.9mph (actually, the 9-flat pass was made later that night).
No doubt, with some serious suspension tuning, this beast could easily break into the 8’s which would be quite the achievement, especially as those SRT8 Jeep guys have been scratching at that door for some time now. Of course, that might be a little ways away if this TBSS keeps coming down on its front suspension.
