For those who would love to see a ZR1 convertible, Cope Design built their own ZR1 drop top complete with a few custom touches. This customized C6 pays tribute to the renowned Blue Angels US Navy aerial display team, thanks to the intricate airbrush work that serves to enhance the overall look of the car. According the video description the guys at Cope Design decided to create their own convertible version of the renowned ZR1 Corvette.
The Blue Angels are the best of the best when it comes to performing technical maneuvers with powerful planes, which seems to parallel the handling the capabilities and sheer performance of the best Corvette on the market today. It may seem like an odd pairing at first, but it just seems to go together nicely.
Typically, Lambo-style doors do little to enhance the overall appearance of a car aside from adding the potential for snarky comments or bad jokes; however, with the Blue Angels’ jets serving as inspiration the vertical door concept may have been used to mimic the hatch on a fighter jet cockpit. A bright yellow paint was used to highlight the ZR1 blue accents throughout the entire car.
In terms of performance, the Cope Design ZR1 convertible is no slouch, with 808 horsepower at the rear tires thanks to addition of a little forced induction courtesy of ProCharger. Details such as the custom interior, blue lighting and carbon additions add to the total package. Love it or hate it, this is one patriotic custom Corvette.
