Video: Big Muscle Checks Out Tim Katz’s ’66 Nova Wagon TAPOUT Terror

The world of muscle cars is full of LS-wielding contraptions built for speed and performance. But rarely do you find a wagon in the mix, not because they aren’t cool, but because they weren’t really built for race-day shenanigans. But the owner of this week’s Big Muscle car doesn’t care. He likes wagons and therefore put his heart and soul into building one to be one of the most unique pro-touring cars we’ve ever seen. Check it out in this week’s episode of Big Muscle above.

The owner of this fine piece of machinery is the one and only Tim “SkySkrape” Katz, one of the co-founders of MMA clothing line TAPOUT.

A true fan of the vintage Chevy, Skrape instantly fell in love with this ’66 Nova wagon and bought it for his car collection a few years back. But the car didn’t stay relatively stock for long.

After Skrape decided he wanted to get into the autocross and road racing scenes, he opted to transform his Nova wagon into the beast you see here.

And in case you didn’t catch it, its of note that Skrape is the head hancho behind this build, meaning he did most of the work on it himself.

Unlike many pro-touring cars that are built by shops, Skrape can honestly claim that the design and build of this ’66 Nova were all his.

When the car was at the 2013 SEMA Show, we got a chance to talk to Skrape about this fine ride as he was anticipating his entry into the 2013 Optima Ultimate Streetcar Invitational. At that event, he placed among the bottom of the pack, but his car will forever stand out to us as being one of the coolest pro-touring builds we’ve seen in a long time!
