Employees at a Havana Village Sandwich Shop, a mainstay restaurant that has been in business for nearly 40 years in Tampa, Florida, found themselves with a bit more cleaning up to do than usual on the morning of Saturday, March 31st, all thanks to a black 5th Gen Camaro SS that lost control and slammed into the building. In this video from YouTube, we get all the details on the accident courtesy of ABC Action News.
Police report that around 9:00 AM, the Camaro lost control, jumped the curb, and crashed into the front of Havana Village where employees and customers were already going about their normal business. In the video, Havana Village employee Judy Jessee describes the wreck by saying it was like a bomb went off somewhere in the building, and that it was “like World War III was coming.”
Luckily, there were no injuries reported by Havana Village customers or employees, but the driver of the Camaro was taken to the hospital to be checked out. Additionally, neither the landmark restaurant nor the new Camaro fared too well, with the car undoubtedly being totaled and Havana Village looking at thousands of dollars in repairs ahead.
We were unable to find any specific reported details on why the Camaro lost control. Drive-through jokes anyone?
