There’s another COPO Camaro on the loose. COPO No. 018 to be exact.
Current sportsman racer, former Pro Stock and Pro Stock Truck standout, and second generation engine builder Todd Patterson put some laps on his new Camaro at Heartland Park Topeka near the Patterson Racing headquarters in Augusta, Kan. last weekend. The Camaro, one of just 69 that will be produced this year, is owned by Bob Tyler of Husky Liners and will be driven by Patterson and operated by he and his father Allen.
Patterson, who has been campaigning in Super Stock and Competition Eliminator this season, will enter the 427 cubic inch, naturally-aspirated model in the CC/SA division of Stock Eliminator, which carries a 10.60 index.
The video above, put together by the folks at Husky Liner, features a ride-along with Patterson on Sunday as he takes a lap down the HPT quarter-mile to the tune of a 9.74, which is 0.85-seconds and change under the class index.
Patterson is entered for the upcoming Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Stock Eliminator and is one of four COPO Camaros currently expected to enter and compete on class racing’s biggest stage and one of ten CC/SA cars on the entry list.
