Chevrolet keeping things a buzz building hype in the impending release of 2016 Camaro, the American automaker continuing to drop teasers was spotted just yesterday out and about for what appeared to be some possible mountain testing in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Courtesy of Bill Howell, a local resident, he spotted an out of place trio of highly camouflaged cars parked in the parking lot of an area shopping center. Being a car enthusiast, Howell couldn’t help but capture a few photos as he shared “Nothing like this ever happens in Pigeon Forge”.

Greeted by what appeared to be the head guy Howell was permitted to take photos with stipulation that none be taken of the interior. Within an hour of the well-known road, The Dragon, a stretch of curvy mountainous road that runs from eastern Tennessee into North Carolina, we can safely assume these test mules were out for some real-world road testing.

In tow–further leading us to believe that testing of the prototypes was going to take place–were a few unwrapped Mustangs which were probably along for some comparison testing. All three prototypes were pretty well disguised. Two sported full camo with only the headlights and taillights exposed and a small section of the grille visible. The third was dressed in a black covering and by all appearances looks to be the convertible variant.

As GM closes in on the official reveal of the 6th generation Camaro leading up to the big release it is likely that in the coming weeks we can expect to see more spy shots captured as final testing commences. The iconic American muscle car’s return to the United States after having been built in Canada since the 1990s is expected to launch with an engine line up that will include the 3.6-liter V6 and 6.2-liter V8, but tuned and enhanced for added performance.

With a date yet to be set for production of the 6th gen, we have our fingers crossed and it would certainly be nice to see them roll off the line during the latter part of 2015.
