Ready For War: Check Out This Crazy S-Chassis From Russia, With Love

How many S-Chassis Nissans do you see with crazy camouflage wrap and a roaring V8 engine under the bonnet? Exactly the point – there aren’t many. Although it may be a common swap for Formula Drift race cars on our stateside race tracks, seeing a US engine on a Japanese car in the streets of Russia can be quite the tourist attraction. For Slava Kalashnikov, owner of this camouflage Rocket Bunny PS13, it’s just another walk in the park.

For Slava, he’s owned a very powerful SR20 with a pretty big snail attached to it. Having a big turbo, of course comes with lots of lag. What would you do about this situation? Cry and weep about how much smaller your displacement is than your turbo housing? No. Slava said his farewell to the SR20 and swapped in a Chevy LS3 with SIKKY components to make for a simple swap and a functional S13.

Slava has done a few basic upgrades including a 92mm FAST throttle body and intake manifold, an MSD ignition upgrade and a Chevrolet Performance cam. A nice healthy tune was made with a Haltech Platinum Series 2000 plug-and-play ECU to maximize the upgrades.

Prior to the small block dropping in, some chassis preparation was made such as cutting and welding support bars for the cut-out front section. This left additional space to fit in a large Griffin aluminum racing radiator with an engine oil cooler in front of it to keep the roaring V8 motor cool.

The powerful LS3 motor’s drivetrain consists of a Tremec T56 TRANZILLA gearbox that drives through a SIKKY aluminum prop shaft to a Tomei LSD.

This S13 with a huge engine dropped into the engine bay would not be considered a drift car without 65 degrees of steering lock, which is why Wisefab front linkages and KTS coilovers are fitted to meet these “parallel-steering” capabilities.

To Slava, it’s not so much about the power that stands out to him, but the amount of response and torque it provides. In addition to all aspects of this build, the difference between the SR20 and the LS3, as cliche as it can get, is like night and day.

Head on over to Speedhunters website to see the full specs and info on the build.
