If you’re anything like us, you’ve been spending the better part of the last few months envisioning your very own C7 Z06 and just how you’d like it crafted. Convertible, 3LZ, ground effects, manual, Z07 performance package, et cetera have all been the stuff of dreams and imagination. But now, Chevrolet has changed all that for the better by releasing a new working configurator on its website.
Potential buyers and gawking enthusiasts alike will find plenty of use in the configurator. Starting from the body style–coupe or convertible–the branches split off and go every-which-way per the individuals’ tastes. The configurator takes visitors to trim options, presenting the 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ as picks to choose from; suffice it to say, with its standard Performance Data Recorder package, the 3LZ is the way to go, at least in our book.
Step 3 arrays the Colors & Wheels in all their glory. Here, users can pick from six standard shades (Black, Arctic White, Torch Red, Blade Silver Metallic, Shark Gray Metallic, Night Race Blue Metallic) and four premium hues (Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic, Laguna Blue Metallic, Velocity Yellow Tintcoat, Crystal Red Tintcoat). The interior offers eight selections ranging from Dark Gray Perforated Napa leather to Kalahari Leather with sueded microfiber inserts, while the wheels are all 19-inch aluminum models in varying finishes.
Next up are the options for all aspects of the car. Museum delivery, painted calipers, the Corvette Engine Build Experience, Z07 Performance Package; it’s all here, and more. These are all the bells and whistles that quickly drive up the MSRP past the $100K mark if you’re not paying close enough attention. The same goes for the second-to-last section, Accessories, with such trinkets as matching luggage, splash guards, and customized center caps (Jake logo, anyone?).
So sit back and prepare to lose the next few hours of productivity and work. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to do a little more “research.”
