You’ve heard of developmental test vehicles before but only occasionally do you hear of one of these unique machines being put up for sale. That’s what makes the ad we found on KSL.com so special- it is for none other than the Pfadt Race Engineering Camaro ZL1 used to test and perfect the company’s prototype coilover and sway bar package for ZL1s. Not only does this car offer innovative technology from the factory, as well as being the fastest factory Camaro ever built, it also offers you the rare opportunity to own a unique test vehicle with the prototypes of Pfadt’s latest products still intact.
The Pfadt Race Engineering test ZL1 has everything you could want from a factory ZL1 and then some. Just like other production ZL1s, this car features the 580hp 6.2L supercharged LSA V8 engine capable of producing 550ft-lbs of torque, massive front and rear brakes, 20-inch black forged wheels, Performance Traction Management and the optional black carbon fiber hood insert.
But those aren’t the only things this car has to offer.
The car was used by Pfadt to develop their prototype for coilovers that still allow the factory Magnetic Ride system to remain in place and fully functional. Currently the car is outfitted with a set of Pfadt’s regular coilovers without MR, and their ZL1 Specific sway bars for precision and balance improvements.
Wrapping up the exclusive development package is a Pfadt Race Engineering paint scheme with orange Pfadt logos across the corner of the hood and down the side of the vehicle over a white background that contrasts the black interior with orange stitching and suede shifter/steering wheel additions nicely.
With just 370 miles on the odometer, this ZL1 is virtually brand new with a $60,000 price tag that’s really no more than you’d pay from the dealer. With added performance modifications from one of the leading suspension companies in the industry, what more could you ask for?
