With June 17th rapidly approaching, competitors are finishing last minute preparations for the Spectre 341 Challenge. Fresh off a win at the second annual Camaro5Fest Autocross, the crew at Pfadt Race Engineering is preparing their Camaro for challenging and borderline insane Spectre 341 Challenge in Virgina City, Nevada. During this two-day event, the treacherous State Highway 341 will be shut down to the public as daredevils push the limits of what really defines a “street car.” This event features a 5.2-mile section of the two-lane highway with over 22 turns and an increase of over 1,200 feet in elevation where drivers will attempt to complete the course in less than 3 minutes and 41 seconds.
The Pfadt Ring Spec Camaro recently received an LS7 upgrade in preparation for the upcoming event. During the Camaro5Fest Autocross the Pfadt car dominated the course, which led to need for a bigger challenge and even stiffer competition. Aaron Pfadt, a former NASA National Champion, will be piloting the Camaro through the twists and turns of the mountainous course. Additional upgrades to the car include an upgraded Brembo brake system, Pfadt specialized Double-Adjustable Feather Light Generation coilovers, and upgrades to the interior chassis bracing. With changing road conditions and the lack of guardrails, drivers must be on top of their game and their cars must be prepared for the challenge. Pfadt hopes to have their driver and Pfadt Ring Spec Camaro inducted into the 3:41 hall of fame at the end of the event.
