Just as Wes Craven the iconic master of nightmares passes, a couple of car jackers decided to enlist the services of Craven’s most well known creation, Freddy Krueger. In a strange pairing carjacker Freddy and a carjacker witch used a sawed-off shotgun to steal a 2011 Camaro in Detroit, Michigan. A pair of thieves decided to don Freddy and witch masks in order to hide their identities during the crime.
It seems a little out of character for Freddy to hit someone over the head with the shotgun because he has a built-in weapon with his creepy razor adorned glove. It is likely that Freddy’s buddy the witch was the one in need of the sawed-off shotgun because without a caldron or a magic wand, a witch is pretty harmless. Needless to say, the duo succeeded in scaring the Camaro driver and making off with his car as well as his belongings. According to GM Authority and Fox2Detroit, Freddy and the witch took the car along with all of the victim’s belongings and sped off. Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured.
However, the carjackers are not following horror movie lore as the attack took place while the victim was awake and Freddy is not a fan of guns. Perhaps modern muscle cars owners should be prepared to “lock your door, 5, 6, get a crucifix…,” and be leery of anyone approaching in Freddy, Jason, or Leatherface mask. If you happen to spot someone cruising around in a Pinhead mask, it’s probably better to change lanes and make the nearest turn. Sure, it is a little early for Halloween, but criminals are nothing if not creative.
