No Expense Spared Pro-Touring ’68 Camaro Hits eBay

The pro-touring world gives automotive enthusiasts the utmost array of choices when it comes to building their cars. Whether just amping up the suspension a bit is your idea of creating the ultimate car, or going all out when it comes to modifying almost everything is, the pro-touring world embraces it. One of our latest finds on eBay definitely fits in the later of those two categories, and we must say, it is quite the nice little Camaro.

The ‘68 Camaro convertible is a remarkable meshing of both classic muscle car and modern performance. Powering this incredible car is an LS3 V8 engine that boasts a healthy 525hp and 462 foot-pounds of torque. Topping the engine is an extended, custom painted cover that off-sets the custom twin-snorkel air cleaner, custom aluminum radiator, polished pulleys, and billet and polished aluminum accessories. Ceramic-coated long tube headers connect the engine to a stainless steel Magnaflow exhaust, giving the car the deep guttural sound that any good muscle car should have. Pushing all that power and glory to the pavement is a T56 6-speed manual transmission.

The engine, transmission and exhaust aren’t the only place that modern performance made its mark on this Camaro. Underneath you’ll find a C5 Corvette front suspension and Z06-specification rotors and calipers. An ‘03 Cobra Mustang suspension sits in the rear of the car with 3.55 gears and 13.5- inch brakes. Adding even more to the modern elements of the Camaro is a complete Air Ride system, allowing you to adjust ride height for any given situation. The Camaro also sits almost perfectly balanced, having a 50.5 percent front to 49.5 percent rear weight distribution. What autocross pro-touring enthusiast wouldn’t love that?

The pro-touring appeal doesn’t stop there, however. Much care was taken to make sure that all of the body lines were perfectly matched on the Camaro so as to have almost invisible seams between the body panels. Atop the perfectly aligned body sits two fresh coats of two-tone charcoal gray and root beer brown paint, a combination we’ve never seen before. The original polished chrome and trim add to the visual appeal of the one-of-a-kind paint scheme.

The inside of the car features heated front bucket seats from a Corvette with a rear bench modified to match. The dash has been upgraded with digital gauges while the center console was restored to new condition with the original auxiliary gauges. The interior offers such modern upgrades as a keyless ignition system, automatic climate control, a custom Kenwood and Kicker entertainment and sound system, as well as an integrated Garmin GPS system.

The whole package sits atop billet Boyd Coddington wheels with Sumimoto performance radials. The only thing we have against this pro-touring beauty is the Z/28 badges that obviously don’t belong on the fenders.

As you can see from the pictures, this car is very unique and was prepared with no expenses spared. Included in the sale of the car is all its documentation from brochures to pictures of the build. As a multiple award winner at shows like the Camaro Nationals, East Coast OC Nationals and World of Wheels, we have no doubt that this car will turn heads anywhere it goes.

So what is the price on this timeless beauty? The “Buy it Now” option asks for $159,900, or you can make an offer. Judging by the company that currently holds this car and has sold many extraordinary pieces of automotive artwork like this Camaro on eBay in the past, RK Motorsports Charlotte, we’re guessing that no low-ballers will be considered.

Do you think this Camaro is worth the asking price or is that too much for a pro-touring build?
