The NMCA WEST Street Car Series completed its sophomore season of heads-up and index doorslammer action on the west coast with the last of four races back in late October, crowning champions in each of its 11 categories, ranging from the five-second Pro Street division on down to Quick Street and Pro Comp. Those champions will once again be honored during an awards ceremony to be held on January 18th at Vic’s Garage inside the Edelbrock Museum at the headquarters of Edelbrock, one of the leading supporters of the NMCA and NMCA WEST.
In addition to crowning its points champions, the NMCA WEST will also honor a number of special award recipients, of which the nominees were announced just last week.
The NMCA WEST will present Rookie of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, Crew Member of the Year, and Ambassador of the Year awards, and after sifting through all of the nominations that were recieved, Promedia, the parent company of the NMCA WEST, revealed the final three nominees who will be up for the award in Torrance, California next month. Among the nominees is Power Automedia’s own James Lawrence, who drove the Project BlownZ 275 Drag Radial Camaro to victory at the final race in Bakersfield, surpassing the class elapsed time record and narrowly missing the series championship.
