Against conventional wisdom and traditions about V8s, the GM E-Rod motors manage to balance the best of both worlds–fuel economy and powerful output. Nevertheless, the issue of getting your ride past CARB can still prove a headache when you’re packing the wrong exhaust. Enter Patriot Exhaust, who have just introduced new CARB-legal headers for E-Rods. Read the details below!
Official Release:
Patriot Exhaust Products has recently introduced a new CARB (California Air Resources Board) Legal header for GM E-Rod motor swaps. Header part number H8080 replaces the factory cast iron manifolds with a tubular header that retains the factory catalytic converter position to maintain legal emissions compatibility. This Patriot header is the ONLY CARB legal header on the market for the E-Rod Swaps into any 1995 and older vehicle. CARB EO #D-57-29
These headers will accommodate stock factory steering set ups, and Most aftermarket conversion suspensions as well, and can be used with most aftermarket motor and transmission mounts designed for the LS1/LS6 engine transplant like Patriot’s own SK100 mount kit. Extra ground clearance makes “slammed” cars drivable and above frame rail exhaust system installation easy. Headers come with welded oxygen sensor bungs in the collectors for fuel injection applications.
Part number H8080 comes with a raw finish for individual customizing, with Patriot’s very popular polished high luster metallic ceramic coating for increased resistance to corrosion and thermal fatigue part #H8087-1, and Patriot’s NEW Black High Temp Coating, part #H8080-1. These headers comes with High Temp Header Gaskets and Special Header bolts.
Features:
- Accommodates factory steering setups
- Extra ground clearance for those with “slammed” applications
- Welded sensor bungs come standard to accommodate fuel-injected rides
