Lou Gigliotti, Corvette racing enthusiast and owner/operator of LG Motorsports, out of Wylie, Texas, has recently announced his bid to run for U.S. Congress. Gigliotti opened LG Motorsports in 1988, and has focused on providing aftermarket parts and installation services to Corvette and Camaro owners, and has also won three championships during his career as a race car driver. Now, Gigliotti has set his sights on Washington, where he hopes to fight for smaller government, and to “take America Back.”
Gigliotti is running for the Texas District 4 seat against 30 year incumbent Ralph Hall, who is on the verge of his 90th birthday. On Gigliotti’s Facebook page we get some insight behind his motivations for running for congress. He tells us:
“Texas 4th district is ready for a fighter to claim loudly that we do not accept what is going on in Washington. Independent heroes founded Texas and we are not going quietly into the BIG GOVERNMENT PLAN to take the fruits of the workingman’s labor and pass it around the world and to the non-productive! Every dollar that the government spends, they must first TAKE from a working man.”
While we’re not in the business of endorsing any political candidates, it’s safe to say that Lou would probably be a friend to motorsports, and in our corner on legislation that might negatively effect the automotive performance industry.
