Holden Debuts New Limited Edition Senator SV, But We Still Can’t Haz

We’ve always been in love with big, powerful Holden sedans and we’re not ashamed of it one bit.

Although Holden’s Australian domestic manufacturing is coming to an end, the Holden Special Vehicles team is going out with a bang by producing a limited number of only 50 of these Senator SV sedans. Sadly, we won’t get it here in the ‘States, just like every other awesome Holden we’ve ever loved/wanted/lusted after.

If you catch yourself looking at the Senator SV thinking ‘this is a Commodore,’ you’re right, as the Commodore is sold in different trim levels such as the Calais, Berlina, and the Maloo as a ute – the Senator is the top-of-the-line offering.

What’s so special about this Senator SV, you ask? Well, for starters, the LS3 under the hood cranks out 462 wild horses through either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Although it isn’t the fastest car Holden has ever produced, it has some goodies that help it stand out from the rest, including 4-pot AP Racing brakes, HSV performance seats wrapped in onyx leather trim, MoTeC-inspired Enhanced Driver Interface, and Magnetic Ride Control suspension.

The car itself only comes in four colors, but all of the special edition Senator SV models will come equipped with a blacked-out grille, side mirror scalps, fender vents, and lip spoiler on the decklid. The Senator SV also comes with special sill plates, serial-numbered plaques, and some spiffy new 20-inch forged rollers by Rapier.

This Senator SV sedan is sure enticing and we’re deeply disappointed that we won’t see any on U.S. shores for at least 25 years. That is, unless you buy a Chevrolet SS and fully convert it. Let us know if you do, but don’t tell us where you live if you want to keep it…
