What’s wrong with strapping one of the biggest GM engines into a new Camaro and backing it up with the highest-quality performance parts? We couldn’t think of anything either. If such a beast is enticing to you, you’re in luck because you could have one in your garage by the end of September for the right price.
A Camaro RS/SS HTR750 was recently added to the line-up for the Mecum auction in St. Charles, Illinois in mid September. This Camaro, built by Redline Motorsports, was exclusively distributed by Denooyer Chevrolet in New York. It comes equipped with a supercharged 427 CI engine with American Racing stainless steel headers and high capacity air-intake system. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with an MGW short-throw shifter. This combination pushed 669 HP and 661 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels upon dyno testing. The Camaro is also equipped with a ZL1 dual disc clutch, 1000hp axles, solid sub-frame bushings and polyurethane differential bushings, upping the durability of this beast.
As far as looks go, it is painted in a dark gray color with custom silver HTR 750 stripes and badges. It has factory 427 hood badges and supercharged badges on the sides and rear. The seats have custom light gray leather inserts.
We first ran across the HTR Camaros at PRI last December. While the one up for auction isn’t an SS454 like the one we had the privilege of seeing, this one is definitely worth bidding on. It is 33rd HTR Camaro built and only the third HTR 750. An authentication VIN plate comes on the car, proving its rare status.
