Hidden under the ’63 Pontiac skin on this beauty is a late-model GTO in disguise. This pristine classic Pontiac Le Mans Restomod (item#271604325865) is listed for sale on eBay, and with a short time left, it is almost up to $95,000, which isn’t bad since the car has accumulated $157,000 in build receipts alone. Powered by a 6.0-liter LS2/LS3 hybrid, it is a modern beast in a sleek classic body.
The modern 6.0-liter GTO LS V-8 features a Comp Cams camshaft along with ported heads and an upgraded intake manifold. After a run on the dyno, the Pontiac put down 525 rear wheel horsepower. Stopping power is provided by big 4-wheel disc brakes with handling provided by a Corvette C4 coilover suspension. Giant Corvette alloy wheels wrapped in Kumho rubber grace the car complete with Pontiac center caps.
Still mixing new and old throughout the build, the interior features red leather out of a 2006 GTO with black carpeting. You’ll also find Auto Meter gauges in a shiny billet panel, a fabricated center console to house the GTO 6-speed transmission, and a Pontiac touch-screen entertainment and navigation system. Given the modern power window options, the door panels were custom made to eliminate the door window cranks. Outside you’ll find a 1970 GTO chin spoiler, a hood scoop borrowed from a Super Duty Tempest, a ducktail spoiler from a ’69 Firebird, and the traditional Pontiac split grille.
This Pontiac features creature comforts such as air conditioning, power windows and seats, AM/FM radio and CD player, defroster, heat, navigation system, and power steering with a tilt steering wheel.
This beautiful Pontiac is one modernized badass, and if given the money, we’d grab it for ourselves! What’s your take on it… would you bid if you had the coin?
