This past weekend Conrad Grunewald showed the Formula DRIFT series that he means business by sliding the Hankook Tires Camaro SS all the way to his very first series victory in Round 4: The Gauntlet. Regardless of how you feel about drifting, LS engines are dominating the sport, and the Hankook Camaro is undeniably a force to be reckoned with. Under all those graphics are a set of Forgeline ZX3R wheels, wrapped in some fat 305/30/19 Ventus R-S3 tires. The 715HP LS7 under the hood is more than happy to reduce those big meats into billowing clouds of white smoke.

The capacity crowd at Wall Speedway, in Long Beach, California, got quite a show as numerous competitors managed to mangle their cars on the guard rails. The final four was laden with American muscle as the Falken Mustang, the Hankook Camaro, and the Mobil 1/Gardella Racing Camaro all competed for the number one spot. Ryan Tuerck was one of the unlucky ones to have a not-so-cordial meeting with the wall as he smashed the Mobil 1/Gardella Racing Camaro into the wall during his battle with Grunewald. Grunewald met current points leader Justin Pawlak and the Falken Mustang in the final. After a tough battle, Grunewald edged out Pawlak to take the top spot on the podium.

After the event, Grunewald wasted no time boasting about putting the Hankook Camaro on top. “I’m really happy for the team. We overcame a lot to get to this position this weekend. And I am overwhelmed to be on top of the podium for my first time and especially to do it by beating a Ford Mustang.”
