Some say a car’s value should be stressed on universal factors, such as mileage, fuel economy, and mechanical condition. Others stress subjective characteristics like paint, customization, and feel when behind the wheel. It’s the few vehicles that can meet and merge both of these left- and right-brain carbuyers that are truly exceptional, and that’s where today’s find comes in.
This 2009 2LT Velocity Yellow model, one of 439 made that year, is a cool find that went up for sale last month through CorvetteForum.com. The seller, Don “Treyvette,” was sure to emphasize the car’s finer features in his listing:
“This Vette is IMMACULATE and really does have only 4,450 miles! That is less than 1000 miles per year! Still has the New Car Smell. Yellow Targa top has never been removed. No one has ever sat in the passenger seat. Always Garaged. Non-Smoker. OnStar equipped. It has the 2LT package, a clean title, and manual 6 speed transmission. The interior is Black.”
If all that doesn’t equate to some serious care and love for a Corvette, then we don’t know what does. It’s reflected in the price tag that Treyvette assigned to the car, which started off in the mid-30 range before being dropped to $31,000 and then $29,999, for which it was eventually claimed and sold this week.
We’re fairly jealous of whoever this new owner is, as he has essentially snagged a heck of deal with a “new” Corvette priced at a fraction of the original cost–$47,895.00, according to the Corvette Black Book. What do you think? Was the price right for this particular Vette? Or could it have been dropped a little more to sweeten the deal? Leave a comment down below.
