Ever Hear Of A Lucra LC470? Neither Have We…

For the past few years, everyone from automotive journalists to the casual enthusiast have been making claims that we’re living in the new Golden Age of Musclecars. While the topic is still open for debate, there’s no denying the fact that the late-model LS motors have inspired people to not only swap them into older cars, but it also has become the go-to engine for companies like Tauro and Lucra to build cars around.

What’s that, never heard of a Lucra? Up to today, neither have we. But once we caught glimpse of it on the Automotive Addicts website, we were awestruck. Founded and owned by sports car aficionado, Luke Richards, the Lucra car company has been building cars for over five years. The design of the body takes styling cues from vintage Jaguars and Ferraris, and the whole car weighs less than 2,000 pounds. But we haven’t even told you the best part yet.

The LC-470 model is available with your choice of four power plants ranging from a carbureted GM ZZ4 350 small block pumping out 375 HP, all the way up to a 630 HP 7.0L LS7. For those potential buyers who think the LS7 is a “bit much” or that the ZZ4 is a little too weak, there are two other available LS engines to choose from; a 400 HP 5.7L LS6, and a 550 HP 6.3L LS3.  For those looking for an all-out Lucra experience, they can opt for an 800HP version of the aluminum V8.

The near-perfect 50/50 layout of this car is due in part to the front/mid-engine design layout.

The performance claims for these cars are astonishing; a Lucra fitted with a 600 horsepower small block and 3.07 gears will hit trip the clocks in the 1/4-mile in 9.1 seconds(!) at 149mph. The top speed is well over 200 MPH. The more “modest” examples with a 400 HP LS6 between the fenders and 3.07 gears out back are good for a sprint to 60 MPH in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 190 MPH.

Like other cars of this caliber, the LC-470 has a beautiful interior.

Everything about the car is top-notch; including the front-mid engine position of the motor, to the triangle-shaped, super stiff chassis. This car is perfect for those looking for a two-seat sports car that can be a contender on the track and then driven home. We like it, and if we had the means, we would investigate further.
