Enrollment Now Open For ’12 FAST XFI 101, Advanced Extreme Courses

The technicians at FAST and EFI University recently finalized the 2012 schedule of XFI training courses and have now begun accepting enrollment in the XFI 101 and Advanced Extreme courses, of which six will be offered throughout the year at a number of locations.

XFI 101 courses are intensive, one-day classroom sessions that cover the fundamentals of the C-Com software that accompanies the FAST XFI and XFI 2.0 Fuel Injection systems, educating attendees in how to set up and tune virtually every aspect of this revolutionary software package.

These course are beneficial to everyone from the beginner to the seasoned tuner alike as they’re introduced to a detailed look at every aspect, from phasing the distributor to configuring tables to the operation of the Intelligent Traction Control feature.

“We start the course with the very basics of how to connect to your laptop, and we go all the way to traction control and how to set up and evaluate it, the nitrous power adders functions and how to control the nitrous through XFI, boost control, and even some of the features that a lot of guys out there don’t use but may be interested in learning more about,” explains racing and XFI tuning wizard Brian Macy, who along with the FAST technical support staff, teaches all of the XFI 101 courses.

In addition to the XFI 101 classes, FAST will also host an XFI Advanced Extreme Class at the COMP Cams/FAST R&D Center in Memphis, TN on September 9-10 that digs deeper into the XFI technology and provides students with true hands-on training in every aspect of the XFI and XFI 2.0 system to take their tuning expertise to new heights.

“The first day of the Extreme class we’ll be at COMP Cams’ R&D Center on the engine dyno, doing data logging, running nitrous, and making changes to the engine to provide a more hands-on environment,” says Macy. “On the second day, we’ll then take in-house race cars out to the track and actually run them down the drag strip while we’re doing data logging and then go back to the classroom, analyze the data and make changes, and then make another run to see what happened. It’s a little more hands-on, and there’s much more input in this Extreme class to try things and see what happens.”

The Advanced Extreme Class requires completion of an XFI 101 Training Class, EFI University 101, or a prerequisite test prior to enrolling.

As part of the enrollment in these course, attendees will not only be eligible for thousands of dollars worth of prizes and giveaways, but perhaps even more valuable, they’ll make personal contacts with FAST technicians and engineers to help with follow-up support once they put their new knowledge to use out in the field.

“We get a lot of calls and emails from attendees after the class with follow-up questions where they’ve looked at their own cars and they still have some questions they’re not sure about, so we have some follow-up that really allows people to communicate with us to clarify things after the fact,” says Macy. “Everyone’s own car is a little different and when they get back home they realize they have some questions, so they have that ability to reach out to us.”
