For the longest time Lamborghini and Ferrari have been some of the most sought-after supercars in the world. This may be because of their high horsepower rating, light weight and sexy body lines. Not only are these cars fast but they give you high status. If you are seen in a Lambo or Ferrari you are assumed to have money, power and respect. Although these cars would be great to have, most of us can’t afford even a fraction of what these cars cost. Until now!
If you own a 1993-2002 Firebird or Camaro and have $9000 to throw around, you can buy a Lamborghini Murcielago kit car and turn your burnt-out street car in to a supercar.
Over on eBay we ran into what’s described as the world’s first Lamborghini conversion kit that will work by converting your everyday F-Body into a look-a-like supercar. Although the car has been discounted from previous auctions with a price drop, you will still have to shell out $9000 for the basic body parts.
In order for the kit to be installed correctly you will have to cut the top of your F-Body and set on your newly purchased fiberglass body. There is no reason to stretch your car to make things fit. You can still use your stock A/C, anti lock brakes, power windows and everything else associated with your F-Body. The engine will stay up front so there is no worry about having to relocate anything.
Some of the parts that will not be included with the purchase of the fiberglass body include headlights, Lambo door hardware, and 2 gas shocks. So after you buy all the accessories, do the prep, work out fitment issues, get paint, redo the interior and work out the minor details, you’re looking to spend $25-$30k for the complete project.
What do you all think? Is it worth the money and time for Lambo look-a-like kit car or would you spend your money on a new Camaro? I know what we would do!
