Think station wagons are lame? Think they are just big, ugly, and slow transportation for soccer moms, meant to tote kids back and forth from after school activities and haul a large volume of groceries? Well, that might be true if you’re thinking of a Volvo, but prepare to have your pre-conceived notions about wagons shattered… Meet the Hennessey V700 CTS-V Sport Wagon.
We recently came across this particular HPE CTS-V Wagon listed on eBay by none other than Hennessey Performance Engineering themselves. As if the standard CTS-V wagon with the LSA wasn’t already cool enough, the Hennessey V700 package includes upgrades to the supercharger, intercooler, cylinder heads, cam shaft, and exhaust system that all accumulate to the astronomical sum of 707 horsepower at 6,300 RPM. That ought to get the kiddos to soccer practice with plenty of time to spare, don’t you think?
As awesome as this car is, there are two major drawbacks we can find. First, the car is an automatic. (Did you just frown? I know I did when I first read that it didn’t have a manual trans…) The six speed auto is a pretty cool slush box, but we would much prefer to control those 707 ponies ourselves, thank you very much. And second, the astronomical price that goes along with all that astronomical power – the V700 Wagon is listed with a “Buy-It-Now” price of $96,500. But, if you’re looking for what could arguably be the baddest station wagon on the planet, you’ve got until Sunday, October 23rd, to pull the trigger.
