If there was ever a Corvette more hotly anticipated than the 2014 Stingray, it’s got to be the forthcoming forced induction cousin–the Z06. Cribbing racing qualities most closely related to the C7.R, the 2015 Z06 promises to turn up a notch everything that makes the base C7 such a joy to drive.
Now, future buyers can spec the upper-level Vette to their liking with Chevrolet’s new configurator. Akin to “Build and Price” webtools you’ll find on other models, you’re allowed to tweak just about every aesthetic aspect of this supercharged supercar, from the paint scheme to the shade of leather interior.
At the core of the Z06 are three trim levels–1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ–that accordingly match with the height of your dreams. Per Chevrolet’s description, the 1LZ is for the purist crowd, touting a fair number of electronic creature comforts like 4G LTE Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as nine-speaker Bose audio system.
The 2LZ adds to the experience with heated seats, Memory Package, and lumbar/wing adjustment capability. Finally, the 3LZ rises to the top as the premier trim level, offering a plush leather-wrapped, color-keyed interior. What’s more, drivers can more closely monitor track performance with the standard data recorder, which packs audio/video playback, engine stats, speed, and other factors onto a simple SD card, usable with any computer for your own records.
No official price point feature is currently available for the Z06, but that will come along in due time. Until then, this will probably be the source of several lost hours spent gawking, clicking, and reading for us Corvette enthusiasts.
