Cleaner Than A Dime, ’69 C10

Back in the 1950s, 1960s, and even the 1970s, Chevy trucks weren’t too fancy. C10s and C20s were purpose built to haul heavy loads and that was about it. Since many people have fond memories using these trucks for every job imaginable, they have become popular in recent years for restomod modifications.

One prime example is this 1969 C10 that was featured on K&N Filters website. After checking out the pictures, we knew that this would be something our readers would love to see. To start, the truck looks fairly stock from the outside, besides a nice set of HRE Wheels. Upon further inspection, this truck has been gone over and cleaned up to beyond perfection.

The truck was restored by Creations N’ Chrome and owned by Hugo Castillo. Castillo had seen a 1968 C10 that Creations N’ Chrome had built for the 2012 SEMA show. He fell in love with the truck and had them build a similar one, which you see here. The truck is powered by an LS1 from 2002 Z/28 Camaro. With a few modifications the motor pumps out 370 horsepower to the wheels.

Suspension on the dime was handled with a complete Hotchkis TVS suspension system and Wilwood disc brakes. The interior was upgraded as well and has a full custom leather interior. Castillo wanted a truck that he could drive daily and win trophies at shows. While this C10 doesn’t haul heavy loads anymore, it certainly hauls ass!
