No doubt about it, we are big fans of the new Chevy Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV), and all its awesome police pursuit goodies – which include a 6.0L, 355 horsepower LS engine. The Caprice PPV rides on a stretched Holden chassis and has a ton of structural and suspension upgrades to handle all the bumps and jumps it might go through chasing down those Duke boys. It’s an awesome car, but unfortunately, the PPV hasn’t been made widely available to the public, with only a few popping up for sale here and there. So, we were really excited to hear that Jalopnik recently discovered this plain white, undercover looking Chevy PPV for sale through a dealership in Texas.
It may be available, but don’t expect to get it cheap. The dealership has this brand spankin’ new Caprice PPV 9C1 listed on eBay for a hefty sum of $31,190. Further adding to our slight disappointment, in the auction listing the dealership states, “LAW ENFORCEMENT, EMT, FIREFIGHTER, OR CERTIFIED SECURITY PERSONEL ONLY PLEASE!” Well, that’s no fun. But hey, if you fit the bill and have the cash, you could get yourself a pretty unique ride without having to wait a decade or so when police departments look to upgrade again.
So what do you think? Is just over $31,000 reasonable for this unique LS powered 4 door bruiser cruiser, or would you just be better off buying a gently used 5th Gen Camaro SS for that much?
