Back in Action: Spectre’s Carbon Camaro Returns

[1]

Back in late November we reported that Spectre Performance’s awesome Carbon Camaro suffered a pretty bad shiner [2] after an unscheduled meeting with a concrete barrier on the autocross course at the Goodguys [3] Autumn Get Together in Pleasanton, California. Well, we are happy to report that the Carbon Camaro is back [4] in action, and already doing what it does best; tearing up the road course.

In a recent post on their website [4], Spectre Performance reports that the Carbon Camaro was immediately sent to the muscle car paint and body experts at Campbell Automotive and Restoration after the accident, where all the damage was surveyed and repairs begun. As expected, the only real damage was to the bolt-on front body parts that can easily be replaced. New carbon fiber body parts from Anvil [5], a radiator support from Classic Industries, a new paint job, and a thorough full car inspection and the Carbon Camaro was ready to start the 2012 show and race season before the end of February.

As soon as the car was ready to roll, the Spectre [4] team took it out to Willow Springs Raceway, in Rosamond, California to get some seat time and to start dialing the car back in. Look for the Carbon Camaro in action at any of the three upcoming spring Goodguys events [3] in Southern California.
