The HSV GTS Maloo is one beautiful Ute, isn’t it? Yeah, as you know, we can’t get enough of these forbidden fruits.
This Maloo in particular got some upgrades from the Holden specialists over at C&A Auto Fashion. For those of you not that familiar with the HSV GTS Maloo (like you should be), it’s the generation-F Maloo Ute with the HSV GTS Sedan’s running gear which includes a supercharged LSA engine, massive AP Racing brakes front and rear, and third-generation Magnetic Ride Control suspension. Chris Harris tested one a while back, too.
To make more power with this Ute’s supercharged LSA engine, C&A Auto Fashion installed their GTS Stage 2 upgrade kit that consists of an 11 PSI blower pulley, a new air intake, Di Filippo Performance 3-inch exhaust, and a custom dyno tune. Before the Stage 2 upgrade, the rare Ute made 443 horsepower at the wheels. After the upgrade kit, the Ute made a healthy 568 at the wheels. You can say that the upgrade kit woke the LSA up a little bit!
C&A Auto Fashion does offer a Stage 3 upgrade kit for the Maloo Ute as well, with the only difference being the addition of a more aggressive camshaft. With the cam, the Ute would be making well over 600 at the wheels, which gets us wondering how well the light rear end stays planted under power. Chris Harris didn’t get much traction when he tested the Maloo GTS, so it’s probably a normal occurrence when under load. These things look like so much fun, though.
