Air filter technology is a wider reaching science than most people imagine. From the early days of oil bath filters, to industrial centrifugal dry filters, and cotton pleated filters. Airaid produces filters designed to replace OEM units, upgraded cold air kits, and custom shaped filters for low profile and hot rod applications.

The air entering your engine can be laden with dust, debris, and other particulate matter. A high quality air filter prevents the intrusion of such elements into the engine. Dust, water and other foreign matter contribute to the wear of cylinder rings, bearings, and valve guides, keeping that out of the engine will prolong the life of your powerplant.

Airaid has pioneered two types of filter elements to clean the air entering your engine. First is their SynthaFlow system. This composite construction air filter is an oiled element and features layered cotton, and synthetic material for high-flow operation and superior filtering ability.

The combination of materials offer the benefits uncommon to filters just made of traditional cotton gauze. These filter elements are washable, reusable, and feature Airaid’s lifetime warranty.

The Second type of filter pioneered by Airaid is the SynthaMax line. These dry element air filters do not require oiling and feature a similar composite construction to the SynthaFlow but omit the traditional cotton gauze.

A double wire mesh entrapment of the inner filter element protects the synthetic material blends for a durable pleated design. The outer synthetic material is a needlefelt polyester designed to work dry or wet. The inner synthetic layer is a chemical bonded rayon and polyester blend. Like the SynthaFlow these dry filters are also washable, reusable, and feature a lifetime warranty.
