In the recent About.com 2012 Reader’s Choice Awards, everyone’s favorite supercharged Cadillac, the dominating CTS-V, managed to beat out several other “big dogs” of the sports car market to win the award for “Best Performance Car.” According to GM, the About.com readers pushed the CTS-V past the other finalists which included the Ford Mustang Boss 302, the BMW M3, and even the C6 Corvette to claim the top spot.
Aaron Gold, Editor for Guide to Cars on About.com told GM, “It’s no surprise to me that readers chose the CTS-V — its blend of outlandish power, precise handling, and breathtaking styling, especially in coupe form, make it one of the best performance cars in General Motors history.” We couldn’t agree more. With 556 tire-melting horsepower on tap, cushy leather seats, and plenty of room to haul cargo or kiddos, we totally get why About.com’s readers ultimately picked “the V”.
But, it is still pretty interesting that the CTS-V beat out fellow GM icon, the Corvette to win the award. Could it be because the CTS-V is as equally comfortable hauling groceries as it is hauling ass? You tell us!
