A driver and his female passenger are lucky to be alive right now as they managed to roll their 4th Gen Camaro Z28 fully inverted. The incident took place in South Topeka, Kansas where thankfully no one else aside from the driver and passenger were hurt.
Police say the Camaro was speeding around the suburb roads of Kansas Ave and 39th Street when the driver lost control and the car went into a ditch, where it rolled over right next to a telephone pole. According to deputies, a man and a women were identified as being in the car and were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The silver Z28 looks pretty torn up, with its front bumper smashed, doors hanging on hinges, and the roof crushed. It’s miracle the two didn’t have more serious injuries.
While having a fast car is always a temptation to speed, take chances, and otherwise use the potential of your vehicle on the street, incidents like this remind us that the real world isn’t a racetrack. Instead of gravel runoff areas and tire barriers, there are ditches and power poles, and there are no corner workers to let you know there’s oil or debris on the pavement.
Especially at this time of year, it’s important to keep a clear head, remember to keep some traction in reserve for the unexpected, and remember that you have to be alive in order to enjoy your car. Be safe, drive sober, and stick around to enjoy the new year…
